Human emotion is one of the most potent forces on the planet. Where Emotions start wars and build peace; nicely spark love and sadly force a divorce. However, unavoidable emotions are also vital sources of orientation and propel us to take action. But uncontrolled emotion can make us and those around us to act irrationally.

The three gist necessities of a human being of work (and life) are to survive, belong, and become. Almost like Maslov’s Hierarchy of Needs, once humans meet the needs of food, water, and shelter. Humans will seek to be obtained for who they are. Then they ultimately learn and grow to become their best selves.

As we know the world moves forward, more and more. So many survival needs are being consistently met, causing human resources. To turn their attention to the next tier of needs, most instantly belonging. Emotionally intelligent EI leaders can extend belonging to their teams.

Technology will amplify humanity

The Industrial Revolution needs strong workers. The Information Age required great knowledge workers. The future generation of workers will be called for emotionally intelligent workers as the world becomes full of more sophisticated technology such as artificial intelligence and 5G. Human skills like compassion and empathy will define workers’ and organizations’ competitive edge.

Example, suppose artificial intelligence can diagnose diseases with greater accuracy than a doctor. In that case, doctors will have more margin to deliver the much needed human elements of empathy and compassion to patients. In other sense, if robots can assemble a customer’s meal more accurately and efficiently than a human, that creates an opportunity for a human to get out from behind the counter to hold the door for a customer or meet thin at their car during a rainstorm.

Future of artificial emotional intelligence 

In the next five to ten years, it is predicted that artificial emotional intelligence will grow into a multibillion-dollar industry. Completely transforming industries, market research, innovation, R&D, and much more. In a put forward to facing the human-like aspect of AI, Amazon, Microsoft, and Google are already in the process of hiring comedians and scriptwriters to build a personality into their technologies. The road map of the future artificial emotional intelligence will see businesses using emotion analytics to make decisions and include the idea of multimodal emotion recognition and an emotion chip.

The hype around artificial emotional intelligence is real. Companies that will incorporate contextual understanding and empathy into their technologies successfully will become the front-runners in this race to technological excellence. However, they must also be aware of the social and personal implications of such a huge transition.
