Believe it or not, when things are getting smart and smarter, time is coming for the Internet of Things (IoT) to get Social.
What is SIoT? What is the Social Internet of Things?
Currently, IoT has established a universe where humans are provided smart data services by the fusion of physical objects and information networks. Social networking aspects are an extended approach for IoT devices. Where IoT devices allow them to autonomously build social relationships to discover objects and their services. It means that all of our IoT devices will be able to act like what we are doing in social media now.
Objectives
The objectives being pursued by the Social Internet of Things (SIoT) paradigm are clear: to keep part the two levels of people and things; to allow things to have their own social networks; to allow humans to set rules to keep safe their privacy and only access the result of self-dependent inter-object interactions occurring on the objects’ social network. Intelligent objects (even though extremely Smart) will not make a difference, but social objects will make it!
